Reserve a Room
One of the new facets of the renovated and expanded Library, is ample meeting room space for small and large gatherings. The public may reserve meeting rooms for small group use, quiet study, and larger community events. Room reservation software is expected to be available on the Library’s website to help facilitate the use of the Library’s meeting rooms.
The Library's public meeting areas and audio-visual equipment are not available for purely social gatherings (other than those sponsored by the Library) or profit-making activities by individuals and organizations not sponsored by the Library.
Three rooms designated for quiet study and tutoring for 2 – 3 persons may be reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis. An upper limit may apply to the number of recurring uses per person.
Sherborn’s unique local histories and genealogy resources are shelved in this room for research purposes. The room may also be reserved for small groups of 10 or fewer for quiet conferences.
This conference room seats approximately 20 persons and may be reserved for meetings that involve discussion and audio visual presentations. Meetings held by the Board of Library Trustees, Friends of the Library, or staff meetings take precedent over other reservations of this room.
Municipal, community and civic organizations whose endeavors are not-for-profit are eligible to reserve the Community Room which seats 125 persons. The hours of use for eligible groups may extend beyond the hours of operation that the Library is opened by application in advance. The individual who applies to reserve the room must be present during the scheduled meeting.
To use the audio visual equipment in the Community Room or Trustees’ Conference Room, the contact person for the scheduled meeting must be fluent with the use of the equipment or arrange for staff assistance by contacting the Library two weeks in advance. Without prior arrangement, the Library cannot guarantee that the staff on duty during the scheduled meeting will be familiar with the operation of this equipment.
