    The newly renovated and expanded Sherborn Library opened its doors in Spring 2023. We are seeking a temporary, part-time Library Assistant to work hours as needed. Work shifts may include daytime, evening and weekend hours. Responsibilities include assisting with day-to-day Library operations. The Substitute Library Assistant staffs the Circulation and Children’s desk, provides friendly customer service, checks materials in and out to patrons, answers and directs phone calls, addresses patrons’ questions about the Library and its services, assists with public access of office equipment and devices and performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    The position of Substitute Library Assistant requires a Bachelor Degree. The ideal candidate will possess superior organizational skills, oral, written, and interpersonal communication ability; exceptional customer service experience is required. A familiarity with the use of computer hardware, basic software programs is required and attention to detail is necessary. Preference is given to candidates with a working knowledge of Minuteman Library methods and procedures, as well as familiarity with the Sierra ILS. Candidates with a high degree of flexibility in their schedule is essential.
