If you’d like to volunteer occasionally (i.e. Arts & Crafts Fair, Book Sale, etc.), but can’t commit to becoming a member, consider becoming a “Friend of the Friends.” Please email sherbornlibraryfriends@gmail.com.
Please be advised all volunteers are required to pass a CORI background check, and we cannot accommodate court-ordered community service.
Introducing Sherborn Library’s Adopt-a-Shelf Program! Help regularly and independently keep our library maintained by adopting a shelf (or several). Like the Adopt a Highway program, patrons adopt a shelf and take care of it; making sure the books are in order and only the books that belong on that shelf are there in a neat manner. Please fill out the Adult Volunteer Application Form to inquire more.
Plan to spend 1-2 hours each month taking care of your shelf in the following ways:
- Dusting the books and shelves
- “Facing” the shelves by bringing the books to the edge of the bookshelf
- Make sure the correct books are on the shelf & in Dewey Decimal Order
- Placing books that don’t belong on your designated shelf on the carts found throughout the library
If you are interested in Adopt-A-Shelf or adding your name to the Adult Volunteer list, please fill out this form.
