Technology Library Assistant, Job Opening
We are seeking a part-time, non-benefited 16-hour a week, Technology Library Assistant to join our excellent team and provide services in our new Library, which opened in 2023. Responsibilities include assisting the Library staff with the daily operations of the Library and serving as the point of contact at the main circulation desk. Additionally, this position will directly assist the Technical Services Librarian with various cataloging and mending projects, with the goal to act as the back-up substitute for the Technical Services Librarian if/as needed. Provides instructional guidance and materials to staff and patrons on the use of network and local digital resources. Regularly offers educational classes and programming on local online digital resources and general technological support.
Qualifications
The position of Technology Library Assistant requires a Bachelor Degree. The ideal candidate will be incredibly detail-oriented and possess superior organizational skills with oral, written, and interpersonal communication ability; exceptional customer service experience and skills are required. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and able to work on daily tasks and assigned projects independently, but also collaborate well with others as a member of our small, hardworking team. A familiarity with the use of computer hardware, basic software programs is required and basic website management knowledge preferred. Experience with technology instruction is desirable.
